Mac Shuts Down Unexpectedly

It's only happened twice but they were like a week apart and i'm worried that it's because of some kind of weird virus that is strong enough to get into a mac? What should I do to prevent this from happening again. Btw, my mac is a OS X 10.6.8 and it is up to date on all the updates.
