Hi all,on my Acer desktop running Windows 7 64bit SP1, IE9 refused to start.
If I try and run it in any possible ways (shortcut, direct run, via dos like shel....) it flashed for a while and disappeared
If run ad administrator, the program started.
I had a look on support sites and forum and tried the following:
- resetting internet setting
- running without addons
- disabling IE9: the IE8 bound into the operating system showed the same behavior
- reinstalling IE9 via windows update

As a workaround, I installed Google Chrome and it seems to work without problems
I'm currently using Microsoft Security Essential.
I run deep scan of microsoft malware removal tool but found no infections
I rin OTL and perform scan. Attached the OTL.txt.
Can anybody help me to solve the issue?

Thanks in advance
Angelo

Hi a.benvi,

Welcome to Geeks To Go!

Let's see if the following helps:

  • Right click on the Internet Explorer shortcut icon, and select "Properties".
  • Under shortcut tab, select the button that reads "Advanced".
  • Uncheck the box that reads "Run as administrator".

You could also try a System Restore to a time before this occurred.

Other members may have a solution if mine don't do the trick. So please stay tuned.
