X-Plane 8.6-- Compatibility with Lion issues

I purchased the x-plane simulator when it was released sometime in 2006. I hadn't played it in years and decided to fire it up on my new macbook; however, to my dismay, OSX Lion claims the installer is no longer compatible, stating it does not support power pc installation. This makes no sense, as this game previously ran fine on my other intel macbook. Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks in advance!
