MBRFix.exe did not work. Are you sure you have it at c:\MBRFix.exe ?

Is there a C:\Backup_MBR_0.bin ?

Is there a C:\newMBR.bin

See if you can run it from Windows:

Start, Run, cmd, OK to bring up a command window. Type:

C:\MbrFix /drive 0 savembr C:\Backup_MBR_0a.bin

(Does this command work? If so try:)

C:\MbrFix /drive 0 restorembr C:\newMBR.bin

Boot into the Recovery Console and run the fixboot c: command. Do not let it create a new partition.

Ron,

The MBRFix.exe file is saved to my usb as a zip file. I extracted the files and it is in a new folder. The Farbar is saved on the same usb drive. By the way, I'm a little confused about the command lines that you ask me to copy for fixlist and fixlog. Am I supposed to do anything with them? I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong or if I'm not understanding your instructions clearly.

You have to move the mbrfix.exe from the folder to F:\ in order for the commands to work. Then try Post #23 again. You can drop the one line that worked.

Copy the next 4 lines:

[xcode]
CMD: copy /y F:\mbrfix.exe C:\
[/xcode]

then continue.
