I re-installed my window home x64bit.

After install, there a few missing driver, network card, wireless, ST Micro Sensor, COMPAL Embedded System Control...

I go to Support.Dell.com trying to find drivers, I've found all except Compal Embedded System Control.

And I also have downgrade my Bios from A10 to A08 because I read online where the new Bios is slower than the () old ones.

However, I used DriverMax to search for the Driver Update.

Everything seem to working except I get a note saying ST Micro Sensor is Not Compatible with the windows 7.

And all the driver is working now.

But I am having a Hard Time to get my Laptop to start.

When Press Power Button, the all the light are on (Keyboard Light, Logo Light...) Except the screen is completely black, no matter how long I waited or how many time I press the Power Button on/off. The window won't start.

The only to get it start is: When open and laptop light are on, closing the lid and waited about a minute and then hold down the Power Button until the laptop shut down, and press power button again to open.

And when it does open. Everything seem working fine. No error, no nothing...

The only reason I did a re-installed the window(over 5 times now), because I want to start a fresh because my wireless is not working.

Before that, I done over 15 times of Factory Reset and this start up problem never seem to happened.

I am suspecting it to be drivers problems... can anyone help me???

My Laptop is Alienware M17x R3

Hi MilesJT

You must install the drivers in the correct order or you will have issues such as what you are having now see http://support.dell....4&isLegacy=true

To obtain the correct drivers see http://www.dell.com/...roductSelection

Did you look in the sub folders, starting with the Chipset.
Dell Troubleshooter http://www.dell.com/...ProductSelector
Run DriverView and see what it reports http://www.nirsoft.n...driverview.html

I edited your reply #7 to remove your product code as a precaution.

You should install all of those at the link http://support.dell....nt?docid=266471
Alternative source for missing drivers http://prod.mypcdriv... M17xR3 drivers

Have you checked that the wireless is enabled in the BIOS and that the switch is in the on position.

Please Run the PCPitstop.com OverDrive Full Tests

Here's how:

You must use your Internet Explorer for this procedure. (doesn't work so well in Firefox or others). If your machine is running Vista or Windows 7, you must Select IE to “Run as Administrator”. After completing PCPitstop OverDrive you can close your IE browser and re-open it Normally so that you are no longer running as administrator.

Go to: http://www.pcpitstop...pit/default.asp
Click on "Free Computer Check-up" listed below PC Pitstop OverDrive
In the User Login - Click on "Sign up FREE!"
You'll need to submit a valid email address and create your own password, then click - Create Account(button)

Now enter your email address and password to Log in, Select - Scan this system Now!(button)
You will then be asked to download an ActiveX component and allow it to install.
It is safe and does not compromise your privacy.
Follow the on-screen prompts to install the ActiveX and to allow the Full Tests to be run on your machine.

The Full Tests take about 2 1/2 - 3 minutes on most machines.
When complete, a Results - Summary - Recommended Fixes will be displayed.

Please post the URL internet address, from your Results, back here into this Topic Thread so that we can review the configuration and present performance levels of your machine.

Note: During the graphics 2D and graphics 3D testing, your screen will display some rapidly moving objects.
If you are sensitive to visual flashing, it may cause dizziness. Therefore, look away from the screen during that portion of the testing.

After reviewing the results we will be more informed and may be able to provide better recommendations for you to work towards improving your machine's performance.

While PCPitstop does offer a variety of Paid Products, the PCPitstop OverDrive testing is FREE. Please ignore the references to Paid Products. We prefer to provide manual solution instructions that you can apply directly to your machine.

Thanks to rshaffer61 for the PCPitstop instructions
