I have Windows XP, and I can't figure out why the folders in My Documents for example keep changing settings on their own. I keep setting it to organize by modified, and it will later have everything organized by name or change the way I view them by tile or icon. What would cause this?

Give this a try. Go to Start then My Computer then Tools.

Next, go to Folder Options then View and under 'Advanced Settings'

scroll down to the Remember Each Folder's View Settings check box and make sure it's checked.

After right click and date modified.

HOLD down the Ctrl key and close the window with the X on the top right.

I tried your tip, Macboatmaster. I'll have to see if that works. Thanks.

Unfortunately, "My Documents" reverted back to alphabetical order again the next day after the computer was restarted. It's like the computer has a mind of its own.
