I was watching some video on Hulu the other night, went to bed, putting my Campaq into hibernate. Turn on my laptop to look for work today online, and get the "Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart automatically in one minute." error message.
I tried a system restore (apparently it hasn't been creating restore points, so I used a 3/26/12 date), no difference.
I can reboot into Safemode, and it won't crash; Safemode with networking, it does.

I used to use superantispyware but at some point the scan would get shut down about 5? minutes into the scan.
I know I've got some junk spy/malware but until now it's not been obvious or noticably intrusive.
I guess my ostrich days are over, and I come wimpering with my tail between my legs to you fine folks.... HELP! :c)
Thanks! Eddy

can you boot into safe mode cmd prompt...if yes at the prompt type in chkdsk /r and let it run

then Please go to Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide...
HERE....

That will help you clean up 80 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty (and you may not be) follow the instructions and start a new topic
here
post the OTListIt2 and Rooter logs ...
The "Topic Title" should contain the name of the infection that you are having a problem with...Use the "Topic Description" to include more details. This will help you get faster responses as some people are more familiar with certain infections....

if you are unable to download or run ANY of the tools...try downloading them on another computer and put them on a flash drive or cd and try installing them that way..
no joy...
start a new topic and let them know you can't run any of the tools..

if your still having issues after the malware pros give you a all clean...come back here and we will see if we can get it straightened out out
