Basically I have 400 dollars to blow on refurbished hardware for a gaming pc, my plan is to have the gaming rig send out a wireless signal with information sharing to my laptop so I can still kick back in the recliner with my laptop on my chest clicking away, sounds fun right? lol, anyways I'd like to spend a little more on the graphics card since that's the power house of the whole performance what have you. Mind you, new pcs are worth about 2 - 3 times more than refurbished ones, and i've seen the used graphics cards and agree I'd come out better building one from refurbished parts. If i'm wrong please correct me, anyways I'll need at least 8 things I beleive, memory, a motherboard, processor, a graphics card, a hard drive, and a power supply, wires/cables, and a case to put them in, i have a good mouse, keyboard and monitor already, and the hard drive doesn't have to be big at all i could live with a 200 or 300 giga sata. i have until the end of the month to decide what i want but anyway if anybody wants to be the brains of this operation and hook me up with the much wanted info i'd greatly appreciate it, i would do the research myself, and have some, but i want to know what im doing and get the best build/ideas possible, thanks for ur time. )

I don't think there's anything wrong with using refurbished parts, provided you know that they are in good condition, which will be the tricky part. Since you're building a rig from scratch, if something doesn't work, it will be difficult to determine what's faulty. Also, if the part doesn't work, it may not be under guarantee.

But if you know how to assemble the parts and have the patience to do it, I think refurbished parts will give you better value for money.
