I have been having some issues with laptop being slow and another issue I will post in another area on this forum. I began researching and found something about the smss.exe file. Stumbled across this because in search I was looking for ssms.exe and fat fingered. I found two smss.exe files on my drive that were not in the system folder they are in the following folders along with ntdll.dll only two files in directory.

C:\MMTEam\Documents\Microsoft\WIN2003\32BIT\ENT_WITH_SP1\I386\SYSTEM32
C:\MMTEam\Documents\Microsoft\WIN2003\32BIT\STANDARD_WITH_SP1\I386\SYSTEM32

How do I tell if this is a virus. I am running Malware Bytes Now and then Norton 360 virus scan after that.
If I should do something else before Virus scan let me know if possible. Thanks so much.

p.s. I am running Windows 7 Premium.
