I have a Dell laptop running on Vista. Upon navigating on the internet, the screen went blank and then displayed the following error message:
"Internal hard disk drive not found. To resolve this issue, try to reseat the drive.
No bootable devices -- strike F1 to rety boot, F2 for setup utility, Press F5 to run onboard diagnostics."

Appreciate any help!

Hi,

Check the BIOS if it can find your HDD.
After turning the computer on press F1 or F2 to enter BIOS and look for the Hard Disk information to check if the HDD is detected. Some BIOS also include diagnostics to check the hard drive maybe your laptop have this...

You could also try to do a "reset" to the laptop, disconnect the power cord and remove the battery then press the power button for 2-3 seconds for electrical discharge. Insert the battery and connect to the power plug again.

Hi,

Is the laptop in warranty? If not you could try to remove the HDD and connect it to other computer to see if its dead or not.
If the HDD is Sata it can be connect internally on a desktop pc with sata ports if its a old IDE you will need to use one adapter and connect by USB like this one http://www.newegg.co...N82E16812232002
