I'm not sure, but I think Outlook may be having a problem. I have been getting the following error messages lately.

I tried to open Adobe Acrobat and got this error message: C:\Documents and Settings\.... .....\filename.pdf Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service. This same error message comes up when I tried opening some other applications. The blue bar that is usually at the top of the error message was missing.

When I tried to open Dragon naturally speaking, I got this error message: Cannot find import; DLL may be missing, corrupt or wrong version. File "dd10shrd.dll" error 1455

Another error message said... The application or DLL C:\Program Files\microsoft office\office 12\wwlib.dll is not a valid Windows Image. Check this against your installation disk. The top bar of this error message was transparent instead of the typical blue bar.

I clicked Start, then Turn Off Computer and the popup window that has the text commands Standby, Turnoff and Restart was completely transparent. I could see the desktop behind it. I restarted my computer and got a Microsoft Error Report that said MSWord and Outlook stopped responding temporarily. Error signature

Event Type: office 12 asserttimer P1: p1ml P2: 12.0.6612.0 P3: 1 P4: 0

After restarting the computer, I didn't get any error messages and I could get all of the programs to run except Outlook. None of the Outlook shortcuts would start the application.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

None of the Outlook shortcuts would start the application.

Have you tried to create another short cut, it's explained in the link below.

I restarted my computer and tried the Outlook shortcut.

The shortcut worked and Outlook started so I didn't have to create a new shortcut.

Hi Joe! Thanks for taking my case.

I use a program called Office Time to time projects I work on. I was gone all day today on one project and OT was running timing that project. When I got back, there were about 20 error messages that said OT couldn't find the data file.

After clicking OK about 20 times, I noticed that the blue bar at the top of the error window was missing (I have mentioned this in a previous post for other applications). I then noticed that Outlook was having problems. I tried retrieving my email and got this error message:

"The file C:\Documents and Settings\user\local settings\application data\microsoft\outlook\personal folders(1).pst is in use and cannot be accessed. Close any application using this file and then try again. You might need to restart your computer."

I closed all open applications and opened Outlook. It was having problems with things being missing so I restarted the computer. Once I restart, things work okay.

The problem may be a conflict that has developed between Outlook and Officetime. For some reason, the reminders in Outlook will open when I open Officetime, even though Outlook isn't running.

This problem is so weird I don't really know what is going on.

Do you have any idea what the problem could be?

Hi,

I'm not familiar with office time at all, so I don't know short of "reinstalling the program" what to offer you here.

Joe,

I have contacted the creator of OfficeTime and I'm waiting for their reply before I uninstall OT.

However, today I ran into the same problem that I posted earlier. I have been at the computer all day with no problems. As I am working in MSWord, I saved my work and tried to close Word when the majority of the words in the document disappeared. I ended up getting an error message that said "Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service."

A program that I had running, Dragon Naturally Speaking, disappeared from the screen although it's icon was still on the task bar as though it was still running. I shut down every program and went to the task manager that said about 25-30% of the resources were being used.

I restarted the computer and got the Microsoft Error Reporting message that said Outlook and Word had stopped responding. The error signature is EventType : office12asserttimer P1 : p1ml P2 : 12.0.6612.0 P3 : 1 P4 : 0 This is the same error message MS gave before.

... :help:

Hi,

"Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service."

That error in particular sounds like a possible RAM (Memory) issue. Are you leaving the computer on all the time, when not working with it? Rebooting the computer refreshes the ram.

Can yo do this below while we wait on creator of Office to reply , I want to see how much ram there is and a few other things..

Please download MiniToolBox http://download.blee...MiniToolBox.exe and run it.
Checkmark following boxes:

  • List last 10 Event Viewer log
  • List Installed Programs
  • List Users, Partitions and Memory size

Click Go and post the result.

Joe

Hi,

On this particular error: I wonder if that's causing other issues too, the amount of RAM (Memory) is ok.

Error: (08/07/2012 06:06:21 PM) (Source: Userenv) (User: NT AUTHORITY)NT AUTHORITY
Description: Windows cannot unload your registry file. The memory used by the registry has not been freed. This is often caused by services running as a user account, try configuring the services to run in either the LocalService or NetworkService account. If this problem persists, contact your administrator.

DETAIL - Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.

To resolve this issue, use the Microsoft User Profile Hive Cleanup Service (UPHClean). UPHClean monitors the computer while Windows is unloading user profiles and forces resources that are open to close. Therefore, the computer can unload and reconcile user profiles.

See link below, and download this UPHClean-Setup.msi (User Profile Hive Cleanup Service (UPHClean) Lets see if that helps anything.

I don't think I understand how to use UPHClean. I downloaded it but it didn't give me an icon to run it. So I went to programs, found it, and tried to open it. The only thing that happens is the DOS screen flashes quickly and then nothing. Is that it? Or am I missing something.

BTW, OfficeTime responded. They had me install their latest version.

That's probably all it does. Lets see how the latest version works for you.

PS.. I'm on on familiar territory here so bear with me..
