Okay so I've been trying to fix my laptops connection to the internet for quite some time now with no luck. It connects fine to the wireless router, diagnostic says nothing wrong with it but no browser can open any webpage. No idea what is wrong or what to try next. I will include a diagnostic results text in my next response.

*EDIT: Also, I apologize if this is in the wrong forum

Uninstall the program below. When you have gotten the internet back then reinstall.

BitDefender Total Security 2011 (Version: 14.0.26)

RErun minitool box and check the boxes that read Reset internet explorer proxy settings and reset firefox proxy settings hit the go button then reboot.

Disable the IP Helper service:

1. Hold the Windows key and type R, enter "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter

2. Scroll down to the IP Helper service, right click on it and select Properties
3. In the dropdown box that says "Automatic" or "Manual", set it to Disabled and then click on "Apply"
4. Then click on "Stop" to stop the service from running in the current session.
5. Click OK to exit the dialog

Open Elevated Command Prompt Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. Now type or copy and paste the commands below one at a time hitting enter after each.

ipconfig /flushdns

netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log

nbtstat -R

Glad to be of service and thank you for the feedback Might I suggest that you switch to Avast.
http://files.avast.c...virus_setup.exe

Happy surfing. :)

Edit:

Also finally to keep your machine running smoothly Run updated once a week or at least twice a month scans with superantispyware and malwarebytes.Run the quick scans offered by both programs just make sure to update prior to each scan also after you use them make sure and disable them from startup because the free versions do not offer realtime protection.
