Hello guys,

I have gotten BSOD (blue screen of death) three times today while I try to play my game. I am not sure how to fix this.

Here is some things I can show you:

Background Information on PC:
My computer is actually a computer from a local highschool. My mother works there and is friends with the tech lady who runs everything. They were just going to throw the PC away with many others. The tech lady let me have a PC to take with me (I needed a PC for college). It appears to not be that old. It just needs some TL&C. The only modification I had to do was put in a new network card for internet access. Other than that, everything is default factory. It is on a router.

Go to the intel update utility with enternet explorer and see if there is an update for your graphics driver.

Install anything that it gives you.

In stall the update below.

If the intel auto update does not find a driver for your graphics card then please let me know.

Okay, I finished the big download from the second link. It downloaded and did it successfully.

I went to the dell site with the drivers and found my service tag: 8TWNJD1
It gave me a list of 91 items that I can install I guess. I am going to use the filter on the right side and do the urgent ones then do the recommended ones then probably call it good on that. It will take a bit of time to do that.

Do you have any other ideas or anything else I need to do?

For now I only suggest that you update your graphics driver(that is the reason your machine is blue screening).We can work on other things later,how is the machine running?

That's the only problem I have with it so far. It blue screened 3 times today (first times ever) while I was playing my game.
I have had my game installed on this PC for awhile, but did not play it until now. That's the same time the blue screen of death attacked me

I think that's the one I need, but when I went to install it...it said the files were already on my PC. I guess I already downloaded it... maybe the download was corrupted last time.

Open your device manager then uninstall your video/graphics driver then try and install the driver again.

If that does not work then use driver max just make sure and untick anything extra that comes with the program.

No problem play your game and see how it goes,here are a couple of things that you can do to improve performance!


Download the program below unzip it to your desktop and set it to run on the next boot.

Then clear all of your restore points and create a new one you can do this by turning off system restore and rebooting and turning it back on and rebooting again.

Then download Erunt and create a backup of your registry and then download ntregopt and run it and then reboot.

Now defrag your machine with auslogics select defrag and optimize just uncheck the boxes that ask you to install toolbars when installing auslogics disk defrag.

1. Right click on My Computer > Properties > Hardware Tab > Device Manager
2. Left click the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers group
3. Right click on Primary IDE and hit Uninstall if there are more than one then unistall them all each one will request a reboot wait until you have uninstalled them all and when the last one reuquest the reboot then do it.
4. Reboot the computer, the Primary IDE drivers will re-install themselves after you reboot.
5. Go back to the Device Manager and Left click the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers group again.
6. Right click on Primary IDE Channel and go to Properties > Advanced Settings tab.
7. Make sure that both Device's Modes are on "DMA if available".
