I am having an issue with my new windows XP service pack 2 computer. I just bought a netgear n600 wireless dual band USB adapter, and i installed it following all instructions. When i go to connect to my wireless network, i keep getting the same message, "windows was unable to find a certificate to log you on to the network." I've tried removing, then reconnecting the network, going into the Authentication and disabling IEEE 802.1x, uninstalling and reinstalling all my drivers, and setting my wireless router to use WPA-PSK with AES Data encryption. All to no avail. Does anyone have any other advice to help me with my problem?

Try this:

Click Start, then select Run.
In the Run dialog box type ncpa.cpl and then click OK.
Right-click the Wireless network connections icon, and then select Properties.
Click the Wireless network tab.
Click the Properties button beside Remove.
Click the Authentication tab, and clear the Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network check box.
Click OK to update the settings.

You have a "new windows XP service pack 2" computer?! This is possibly your problem right here.

First things first, get SP3 installed, and the rest of the available updates while you are at it. If you have to move the computer temporarily to where you can wire it in to get a connection, then I suggest you do so.
