hi, i got hit with malware earlier in the week. after i thought i had eliminated most of it, the aurora popups came along just to show me that i was wrong, then a toolbar appeared on my browser with an icon in the system tray. that was a tough one, after trying many things i ran ad-aware and spybot while in safe-mode, and that seems to have gotten rid of them. however, the aurora popups are still a problem, and im not sure how much other stuff is still present as well. thanks for any help you can offer. Here is my hijack this log:

thanks , but you wrote

Go to Start->Run and type "Services.msc" (without quotes) then hit Ok
Scroll down and find the service called:

and did not specify what service to scroll down to. if you could get back with that info i would appreciate it. thanks.

Hihi, I wanted you to do too many things in one and aborted.
I now edited the advise. Let's first do one part, than we will get to the services part later.

hi thanks again. i ended up being able to find the correct service and disabled it, because that was the only way i could then delete the service with hijackthis.

also, i had to make an educated guess when i ran my scan in hijackthis, as the O4 item that referred to a file in my system32 folder was no longer present, but had been substituted with another item that did the same thing. It was a process that was randomly named, referring to another file in my system32 folder that was also obviously randomly named. The original file was not there, so after fixing the new item in hijack this i used killbox to delete the corresponding exe on reboot.

so far so good. here is my ewido log and my new hijackthis log. thanks again for your help.
