Last week, I posted "confirmed spambot, please help" which led to a solution that included running ComboFix. In the process of running the fix, I was prompted to enable the Windows Recovery Console. Subsequently, I was told the logs from my post-fix scan were clean. Now, at boot-up, I see the following:

Please select the operating system to start
Microsoft Windows Recovery Console
do not select this [debugger enabled]
Microsoft Windows XP Professional

Please advise if I should be concerned, and how I should proceed.

Hi. :)

That is absolutely fine and not a cause for concern...

Basically after your helper advised the download/installation of ComboFix in your prior topic. The Recovery Console was installed by Combofix. So when you boot up and re-start your machine you are given the option to either enter the aforementioned Recovery Console Console and or choose the Operating System.

However if you select nothing, after a short period your machine will boot up as normal. The below article explains what the Recovery Console can be used for:-
