Hey all

came across a new problem I hope to get solved soon

recently my printer (Kodak esp 3250) stopped being recognized by my pc, I tried a reinstall but I get a instillation error everytime and I believe it might have to do with this error message

Windows can't open add printer. The local print spooler service is not running. Please restart the spooler or restart the machine.

I can confirm restarting the pc hasn't solved this issue. I tried to restart the spooler but nothing happens and I get an error code

Error 2: the system cannot find the file specified

any ideas what I should do?

Sorry that the post was missed, this occasionally happens, merely because of the vast number of posts.

What is the O/S please
eg Windows XP professional, Windows Vista Home Premium etc.

and if the computer is branded please post the make and full model

I notice you posted in July this year, in our Malware forum

It appears to be the same computer.

Once again I must apologise, as I see you never got a reply

May I ask if the problems then, still appertain now, and this is an additional development

If so, I will take steps to ensure you have a reply from one of my colleagues in the Malware forum and then, you may, when you have a clean bill of health there, return here.

well from what I posted last july I did manage to get rid of the virus but I do believe it might have damaged the printer spooler program. I might need to make sure I have a clean bill of health before I can restore my scanner to working form

Ok.
This was the topic in our Malware forum
http://www.geekstogo...__fromsearch__1

I will try and arrange a reply to that, and then when the Malware expert has finished, and if he needs to refer you back here, we will then continue on this topic.
Please be patient, as they are very busy in the Malware forum

Once again our apologies that your topic has been overlooked.

Nice of you to come back here and say thanks, but of course all the hard work was done by my colleague Essexboy.

All
I did was to realise you had posted in Malware and asked if it could be looked at.

Anyway THANKS and good luck with it.

Got an update, the spooler is acting up again, also my printer is missing a few drivers but when I tried to install them it keeps failing.
