Greetings,

I have a machine running XP Pro. It just started freezing on boot at the windows logo screen. When I try safe mode, it stops on the drivers screen. In both instances, the light goes out showing it is no longer thinking. I thought it was a boot sector problem so I ran Bootmaster.filerecovery.biz. It showed no bad sectors. What else can I do?

Can you be a little more specific because when you start in Safe Mode the next screen is all the drivers being loaded. Does it freeze before any driver loads or does it stop on the same driver everytime?

I have solved my problem. It is a hardware issue, bad capacitors on the MB. Several are swollen.

Thanks for helping.
