Hello and welcome to Geeks to Go

Is this a clean install on a formatted hard drive.

A repair install of an existing installation.

What please is the reason for the clean install

The error may be caused by a defective hard drive, eg. bad sectors on a failing drive.

It may be caused by a damaged or fingermarked installation CD.

please provide some more detail

Is the installation disk a branded system disk like Dell and is the disk for that system?
Also if not branded is it a genuine Microsoft installation disk, downloaded copy or a ISO file?
If one of the above where did the file come from?
