I would disconnect all external hard drives, flash drives and try again

The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk2\DR2.

The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\DR1.

What has happened her is that after my post 12 and then my ack on post 13, that I had seen the message that it was not a WD HDD, you have then made THREE separate posts in reply at 0226 0259 and 0300

It was however my error in reading ONLY the last of these, which is the one I referred to.

I will continue shortly on this post.

1. I would go here

http://support.lenov...ds/default.page

I would check either using the individual downloads that your drivers are up to date especially for the Graphics, the Audio, the
LAN or wireless depending on which you use and the CHIPSET and storage controller. IF THOSE allter two are not up to date install those first.
You may wish to use the update my product on the right hand panel of that screen
http://support.lenov...cID=TVSU-UPDATE
although I have no idea as to its real efficiency

2. I see that an update failed to MSE, however that may well of course have been due to the shutdown.

3. I would check that you can go to windows updates and see if you have any updates offered.
You may wish to check there as well for other than crictical updates, depending on what is normally set for updates.
eg Hardware updates and software updates.

4, This computer orignally came with McAfee installed, but as above, I see you have MSE.
I take it that you do not still have McAfee as well

5. I am NOT a Gamer, but in respect of the Need for Speed problem
System requirements

Fixing Need For Speed: The Run (NFS: The Run) Crashes, Errors, Freezing, Lagging, Race wheel controls, CTD, Poor FPS, Black screen, No Sound
First things first, make sure your PC system meets the minimum requirements for Need For Speed: The Run.

Minimum System Requirements
  • OS: Windows Vista SP2 or Windows 7
  • CPU: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or equal AMD
  • RAM: 3 GB
  • HDD: 18 GB free disk space
  • Graphics: 512 MB Graphics Memory
  • DirectX: Version 10
  • Network: 512 KBPS Internet connection or better
Recommended System Requirements
  • OS: Windows Vista SP2 or Windows 7
  • CPU: 3.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Quad or similar
  • RAM: 4 GB
  • HDD: 18 GB free disk space
  • Graphics: 1 GB Graphics Memory
  • DirectX: Version 10/11
  • Network: 512 KBPS Internet connection or better
Supported Graphics Cards:
  • Minimum – NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT or ATI Radeon 4870
  • Recommended – NVIDIA GeForce GTX560 or ATI Radeon 6950
You will see that your system does NOT really meet the requirements.
The simple fact is that the Lenova was never really desgined as a gaming machine and in respect of THIS aspect ONLY this may well be the problem.

TRY this
Disable visual themes and desktop composition

To disable visual themes and desktop composition when running NFS: The Run, follow these steps:

  • Right-click on NFS: The Run exe file / shortcut
  • Click on the Compatibility Tab
  • Place check marks on both Disable visual themes and Disable desktop composition
  • Hit Apply, then OK
  • Start NFS: The Run
and if it crashes on launching try this

  • Turn off your anti-virus software before launching the game, but make sure you turn it back on after playing.
Sorry once again about the error please post back when you have completed these suggestions.
