Go with the 3000, you won't be able to tell the difference.

You don't need a CD-R/W and DVD burner. DVD burners will burn CD's too. I don't know about dual-layer burners. I guess it's nice to have for future compatability, but dual-layer blanks are over $15/each! It's supposed to be about a year before the price comes down considerably. I would go with a 16X dual mode DVD+/-RW. You should also consider 1gb of RAM.

save your self 200 on the prosessor and put it else where- use this site

I would love 1 gig however i cant afford it. Here is my new list

-AMD Athlon 64 3000 $255
-120 GB Western digital SATA 8mb buffer $139
-512 3200 CL2 Corsair DDR $205
-ASUS K8V SE Delux $199
-ASUS RADEON X800 256mb $769
- Pioneer DVR-108 $168
-Case $200
Total - $1935

Wish i could do what i really want however i dont have enought <_< Oh well this is still a killer system!!

What do you guys think?

Have you looked at 939 pin CPU's and motherboards? It would ensure a much better upgrade path, as future CPU's are being developed in this format (939 pin).

Hey well actually i dont plan to upgrade this computer for a long time a very long time execpt for some more ram a soundcard and more HD space.

Hey hey hey!! I did it!!! I made my first computer!!! :D :D Thanks for all your help and advice (soxrok and admin), I am so happy!! 100+ fps plus on cs: source and 100 fps on Counter-strike and condition zero!! Everything is working fine and i have never had so much free space 155 GB free :D :D <_< :D :D well here are the specs if you didn't already know
ASUS k8v SE deluxe
AMD Athlon 64 3000
160 Western digital SATA
ASUS AX800 pro
Pioneer DVD +/- RW
512 Corsair RAM

I did have some troble with my SATA hard drive. When i was installing XP Pro i said there was no hard drive :o however i didn't relize that you need to install drivers for it.

Once again thanks for all your help!!! :P
