WIN XP SP3 Blue Scrren Crash

Hi all,

I recently installed XP Pro on a spare PC.

Installed all updates, SP3 ect.

Tryed to upgrade to IE8 and got blue screen of death - BAD_POOL_CALLER. Now i'm not swimming atm so at a loss-

Tryed shutting down AVASt then trying and made no difference, any sugguestions??

Uninstall Avast and see if the issue still happens. If not then install MSE and see if it happens. If it still does not happen then the issue is Avast. Disabling Avast still allows the program to register at startup and can cause the error. Uninstalling it takes it out of the equation completely.

Now if you want to try you can try installing Avast again if you would rather have it. The issue may have just been a faulty driver within the program that failed to update. :thumbsup:
