My son's notebook crashed a few weeks ago. I finally got around to buying an external CD drive and tried to re-install Windows XP. Everything was running fine, then when it go to "Setting up Windows" it hung up.

I shut down and restarted the process, same thing happened. The third time I tried this, I got a message to enter a HDD Bay password - what??? Then I got a message that there was a non-system disk error. I'm ready to toss this thing out of the window!

Any suggestions?
