Hello I'm new to this site and forum. I'm having some issues with my lap top. I have a toshiba satellite l655 s5153. And starting yesterday it's been stuck on toshiba leading innovation page. This is the page menu where u can click f2 to setup and f12 to boot manager. It stays stuck on this page and every ten minutes it would turn black and go to same screen. I can't press f2 f10 or f12. The cd rom sounds like its loading but nothing. It's like I cant do anything. Does any body have any ideas what this could be . Thank you

Welcome to Geeks to Go

When you say the CD rom sounds like it is loading, I presume there is NO disc in the optical drive
Does the drive drawer have an indicator on it and is it flashing

Is the noise by any chance a clicking noise and if you listen more closely to the drive drawer you dhould be able to ascertain if it is coming from there, or indeed from the base of the laptop

1. Take out the CD
2. Check the connections to the new hard drive
3. reboot without the CD in
when it then comes to the screen can you then access BIOS setup - keep tapping F2

If I may pitch in with a suggestion while good colleague Macboatmaster is offline.

Not all Toshiba notebooks use the F2 key to access the BIOS, other keys that may be used include F1 or Esc, F8 and 0 have also been used + F8 has also been used to do a factory restore which you may be able to do and if it is indeed necessary for the original HDD, I hope that by using one of these keys that you are able to access the BIOS and move on with the guidance of Macboatmaster

I hope that you do not mind my interjection Macboatmaster.

start again please by listing how these problems developed and ALL that has been done to try and resolve them.
I do not mean that to sound sharp in any way but of course your first post did not mention the new hard drive.

I do not know that particular toshiba - if possible either remove the oprtical drive if it is the type in a carrier, where the whole drive can be removed or if you are technically capable, see if it can be easily disconnected.

Without any chance of getting a boot from a CD, getting into BIOS etc , we are going no where fast

Another possibility is the keypad - try an external keyboard

As I said the list of what happended and how this developed may help

Okay before I bought the hard drive.i started up computer and . my computer was still stuck at the same screen toshiba leading innovation screen.I did some research online this suggested my hard drive was bad. so I bought a new hard drive plugged it in and put the CD in.and it does the same thing.and like u said I have tried all the keys and unable to boot from disc or go to settings. That screen turns black like every ten minutes but just to go back to same screen.i just tried to plug in a keyboard. But no lights on keyboard are on so leads me to believe its not working or being picked up.

aloha im have the same problem if you don't press f2 or f12 is goes to a black screen and says Intel UNDI, PXE-2.0 (build 083)
Copy right 1997-2000 intel corporation
For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller v2.1.1.1(12/23/11)

Check cable connection!
PXE-Mof: Exiting Intel PXE ROM.
Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or insert Boot media in selected Boot device and press a key.

Can you help me get my Satellite S855 working again.
