When I start my computer I get this error message "windows failed to start. a recent hardware or soft change might be the cause. etc etc" I have a Toshiba laptop. I've tried the repair but it doesn't do anything. I downloaded a repair disk but can't get it to load from that. Any suggestions?

Hello,

(1.) If you are still in need of help, please tell us the model number of your Toshiba and the operating system (Vista or Win 7).

(2.) See if you can access the Advanced Boot Options Menu:
  • Power on the computer and start tapping the F8 key to bring up the Advanced Boot Options Menu.
  • If successful:
  • Please let us know if there is a Repair Your Computer option listed on the menu.
  • Next, arrow down to Last Known Good Configuration and press <Enter>. Reboot.
  • Any luck?
