I want to install a hard drive with WIN XP into a used Dell Optiplex 745 The hard drive I want to install has all the information, programs, software, etc that were used on the now dead pc and I want to be able to access all of that. I went to the formerly friendly Dell support site but can not find driver downloads. ?? Is there another site where the needed drivers could be found?

OK this is a little complicated.
The drive you want to install you say is out of a another system correct?
Was this a Dell system also of the same make and model?

The Optiplex isn't remotely related to the old pc so drivers for the Dell will not be on the old hard drive. I want to leave the hard drive as is adding the necessary Dell drivers.

OK first lets see if you can get all the drivers by going HERE.
Enter your service tag number for your Dell and it should give you a list of all original and updated drivers.

Secondly just to warn you since this drive came out of another system it may not even boot since the drivers are not for that system.

Are you still having problems with your issue?
It has been 11 days since your last response and I was wondering if the issue has been resolved?
If so can you explain how it was resolved so others may be able to fix it if they have the same issue.
If not please let us know and we can continue with helping you to resolve the issue.
