Looking at the gigabyte UD5H WB because it has a wifi Bluetooth card with it. First pick was the G1 sniper. Went with the AsRock because of a suggestion and after more research picked the pro and because the G1 sniper mobo would not fit any of the cases I picked. But from the start I liked the gigabyte mobo best. So question should I just go with a separate wifi Bluetooth card? As for the filters I was thinking about if I could add them, can I buy or would I have to fab. Why the themaltake over the one I picked. OH because I didn’t list it, the Corsair professional Hx650 is the one I picked. OOPS on the windows 7 meant to pick the OEM. Other people on other forums are saying to go with a different SSD, like the Samsung 830, crucial M4, or OCZ vertex 4 instead of the Intel. Is this just a preference HELP!!! Because I have to research all suggestions to find out for myself. I like to know why. On the GPU the numbers are so close am I even going to notice? Or is radeon hd 7870 really that much better? Being that I’m learning I am on info over load all the numbers and specs I can make sense of seem to be so close. Trying to filter out preferences and opinions over facts, price, reviews and personal reviews AAAAHHHH!!!!!! Going NUTS!!! :bashhead:

CPU Intel Core i5-3470 3.2GHz Quad-Core $184.99

Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H-WB ATX LGA1155 $209.98

Memory G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 $39.99

Storage Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM $59.99

Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5"7200RPM $59.99

Intel 520 Series Cherryville 120GB 2.5" SSD $119.98

Video Card Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 2GB $229.99

Case NZXT Phantom 410 (Gunmetal/Black) ATX Mid Tower $104.98

Power Supply Corsair 650W ATX12V / EPS12V $94.99

Optical Drive Lite-On iHBS212-08 Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer $117.24

Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Professional SP1 (64-bit) $127.99
Total 1350.11
Still going back and forth on the blu-ray I’m also looking at the
Pioneer Black 12X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 5X DVD-RAM 10X BD-ROM 4MB Cache SATA Blu-ray Burner With BDXL Support BDR-2207 What does everyone think of just going with Windows 8 ? If it comes down to price I’ll spend a couple more dollars even for a few options I may not need right now, but my need latter, or maybe not at all, this is were I need everyone to tell me I’m missing something or my need in the future . Want to make sure what I need is there! If I have to pick another mobo for 1 more sata port I will. Don’t want to save for a lesser part. Better for less GREAT. SO with all that said I like to be exact and I do over analyze everything. There is a term for that (ANAL) right HAHA.

You can drive yourself crazy selecting parts and doing research, one says this is better another says that is better, and there is always something new, coming out soon. best to settle on a part and then stick to it unless you find there is a problem with it or it is not compatibly with some other piece of your build. Leave out the GPU till last, see how much you have left in the budget.

Gigabyte is your chosen brand, you want WiFi, You are a little concerned about the number of SATA connections. To date you will be using 5 SATA connections so the GA-Z77X-UD3H is out, has 6 SATA ports and no WiFi.
The Z77X-UD5H, has enough SATA ports, but now WiFi, and adding a decent card would make it to expensive and you would have to sort out some software to use it.
The GA-Z77X-UD5H-WB is the one, software to use the WiFi and Bluetooth as well, 9 SATA ports.

Case, good, filters, > https://www.google.c... fan filter kit

CPU, gOOD. It is worth mentioning that if you do convert video formats For $30 more, the i5 3570K, is a little faster at stock, and with Intel HD Graphics 4000 is more than 75% faster at converting some codacs than Intel Graphic 2500. Source, > http://www.xbitlabs....00_2.html#sect0

RAM, Good.

Storage, Good.

SSD. Good,

PSU. Good.

Blu Ray, can't give a opinion as I do not use them. You can buy an OEM one and use free software to start. From what I read from reader feedback is the software that comes with the drive is often disappointing.

OS, window8 is on special at Newegg, > http://www.newegg.co...erating-Systems With this Promo Code from this page, check to see how long it lasts, > http://promotions.ne...-_-cart-_-promo

Will get back to you.

Okey i5 3570k for cpu. that leaves me with just the GPU. seems like your saying go with the best within my budget.Nvidia Geforce is the one i seem to be leaning towards. I have looked at radeon or i guess AMD. Gigabyte, ASUS seems to be the only link between the two that i like. And EVGAAt least i have it down to three manufactures . seem to keep going back to the 660 though the oc,& ti. and have looked at the radeon amd 7850 or 7870. It has to be 3D capable. this seems to be the hardest.GPU, Core clock, boost clock, cuda cores, memory interface, stream processors,AAAAHHHH!!! numbers are so close not sure what matters most so I try to pick A happy medium on numbers. I will be playing only a few games but all the tests seem to compare how different games are on them, different games different results. will be watching blu-ray, HD & 3D movies. Will be hooking up to the cable box to record movies (when i figure out how)As is everyone kind of lean towards the better and more options even if i dont need (just in case)probably driveing you crazy :headhurt: Belive me i am looking id like to figure it out on my own.

sites i was looking at

http://www.videocard...ommon_gpus.html
http://http://www.ge.../specifications
http://www.geforce.c.../specifications
plus the one you sent me from tomshardwear.
looks like the gigabyte 660 ti is going to be my choice. little more than i wanted to spend on a video card. But only by $50 to $75 more.
As for the cable box it does have a firewire port. thats later anyway.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/kYbc this my be it :yeah: The 660 ti oc version is cheaper but is it better?

Your build is all compatible, so I reckon you are good to go.

Order your windows8 now from Newegg to get the Promo code saving of $30, link is in post #17.

You must take anti static measures when working on the computer and when handling parts. You can do this by briefly touching an unpainted part of the computer case or, the method I prefer, wear an anti static wrist strap like this, > http://www.newegg.co...N82E16899261005

I recommend that you get a internal system speaker, this is attached to a header on the Mobo, If at POST there is a problem ie. dogdy RAM, no OS deteccted, you will hear a series of beeps, error codes. Even if the Motherboard comes with a diagnostic LED display, the speaker is one of the best items you can have in the build, > http://www.cwc-group.com/casp.html

Download your selected motherboard's user manual from the Gigabyte web site. This could be more up to date than the one included in the retail box you receive, you can also browns through it and post any questions you may have.

Let us know when you have ordered the parts.
