Samsung Kies does not open on my PC

Hi There!

I have installed and uninstalled Samsung Kies many times but whenever I open the program, an error message pops up. I have installed .net framework 4 as well. I have tried it on my laptop as well but the same error occurs every time. Please help since I need to upgrade my SGS2 backup the contents of my phone.

This is the error window I receive: Kies has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
