Hi Emeraldnzl,
This is to let you know that I finally re-installed IE8, and I cautiously can say that the symptoms have gone away. I am still wary only because the last time I thought it was fixed, the symptoms reappeared a couple of days later. Such is life. I feel you've given me all the advice you could, therefore please go ahead and close this post. I truly appreciate the help and your efforts in resolving my problem. Take care of yourself.
