DNS server not responding

i just build a new comp last week and recently i have problems playing with my online games. yesterday,my computer says it is connected to the internet,however,i have a limited or no connection to the internet. i tried everything from renewing ip and so on. now it it works fine. however,when i scan for issues on my internet,windows says that my computer is properly configured,but the dns server is not responding. eventhough i can already start surfing on the internet. how do i address the issue.

  • Open Control Panel
  • Click on Network and Internet
  • Click on Network and Sharing Center
  • Click on Change adapter settings
  • Right click on Wireless Network Connection and click properties
  • Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
  • Click on properties
  • Check Obtain DNS server address automatically if it is not already.
  • Click OK until you close all open dialogs and reboot. See if problem is resolved.

If that doesn't work follow the steps again but this time check Use the following DNS server addresses: and under Preferred DNS server: type in 8.8.8.8, and under Alternative DNS server: type in 8.8.4.4

yups,i already did that. infact i reinstalled windows since i had some other issues. all other issues were solved except for this. even after reinstalling

i can browse without any problems other than youtube suddenly stop buffering midway(even after reinstalling windows). the game i am playing is league of legends and blackshot. when i am playing LOL for example,my ping becomes too high and cant even play the game. so i used the diagnose my internet connection and the same pop up "your computer is configured correctly,dns server is not responding" appears. i tried using my other laptop and diagnose the wireless connection but no pop ups came out.

okay....all solved! i tried again the google DNS and somehow this time round it works. will give it about a day amd will reply here again if things are all smooth. thanks!
