Hi there i am needing help removing pceu virus on my computer
i have read various fixes online etc and tried to do them with no results
i cannot access safe mode or safe networking mode when go into this i just get a white screen from the virus and cant access anything in windows
so the only one i can go into is safemode with commmand , i managed to get the malware bytes download on the computer on this mode from dowloading it from other computer and putting it on a cd and then putting it on this one.

so i did a scan with malware but ibviously as can only get access to safe mode command i cant update malware which is needed to do to remove virus as you cant access internet in this mode.

i dont know what else to do i have no restore points either to go back there was a restore point which i did week ago but is showing none. so cant use that route either,
i have alot of files on the computer which i dont want to lose either,

so any help on what i can do to remove this virus would be greatly appreciated. i also did check the shell file thing and it does have explorer.exe in it already,

What operating system is this ? XP, Vista or 7
If Vista or 7 is it 32 bit or 64 bit
Are you able to burn a CD on another computer or do you have a USB of at least 1Gb

I will initially assume it is 32 bit

Please print these instruction out so that you know what you are doing

  • Download OTLPENet.exe to your desktop
  • Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to a flash drive.
  • Ensure that you have a blank CD in the drive
  • Double click OTLPENet.exe and this will then open imgburn to burn the file to CD
  • Reboot your system using the boot CD you just created.
Note : If you do not know how to set your computer to boot from CD follow the steps here
  • As the CD needs to detect your hardware and load the operating system, I would recommend a nice cup of tea whilst it loads :)
  • Your system should now display a Reatogo desktop.
Note : as you are running from CD it is not exactly speedy
  • Insert the flash drive with FRST on it
  • Locate the flash drive and run FSRT
  • The tool will start to run.

  • When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.
  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) on the flash drive. Please copy and paste it to your reply.
