Puran Disc Defragmenter been going since 11 almost 5 now. It ran through the steps fairly quickly until it got onto filling gaps. It's at 64% of filling gaps and moving at a snails pace for whatever filling gaps does.

It finished took 11-6:30 for it to finish. I gave the computer a good break after all of that. Then ran it through the paces tonight without any blue screens. Some slowness on some sites though. ESPN is still the worse functioning site since the problems. I try to access some stuff and have to refresh for it to work. Then the setup of the page is screwed up because my text got changed when the issues started. Is that a normal thing? I tried editing my text and advanced appearance settings but it's not the same as before.

Hi gho,

Glad that your system is better now.

Then the setup of the page is screwed up because my text got changed when the issues started. Is that a normal thing? I tried editing my text and advanced appearance settings but it's not the same as before.

Should I try to get my video controller after that so I can try to watch videos and stuff like normal? Not really sure which download contains the controller on the dell site.

For these two system problems please start new topic in Windows XP™, 2000, 2003, NT. There are Tech guys that will help you more them me with this. Post them link to this topic and tell them that you are clean now.

I'll also leave this topic opened until you solve your problems.

Your logs and system are clean now.

Step 1

Please close all running programs and Run OTL
  • Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

    :OTL

    :Commands
    [purity]
    [emptytemp]
    [resethosts]
    [Reboot]

  • Then click the Run Fix button at the top
  • Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done
Step 2

We need to clean up your PC from programs we used.

Please start OTL one more time and click CleanUp button. OTL will restart your system at the end.

In case that any of the software we used in this fix still remains on your system please delete it manually (Right click on it and select Delete).

General recommendations

Here are some recommendations you should follow to minimize infection risk in the future:

1. Something to read

To learn more about how to protect yourself while on the internet read our little guide How did I get infected in the first place ?

2. Make Backups of Important Files

Please read this article Home Computer Data Backup.

3. Regularly update your software

To eliminate design flaws and security vulnerabilities, all software needs to be updated to the latest version or the vendor’s patch installed.

You should download Update Checker from here. The program will automaticly check for newer version of software installed on your system.
