Hello,

I am using a Toshiba Satellite P750 with Windows 7.

This morning, I suddenly had a blue crash dump screen, and now I can't get it to start. When I turn it on, I see the Toshiba logo, then the gray "Windows is loading files," then the Windows logo starts bug it turns to a blank black screen with only a large cursor.

These are the things I've tried:
1. Restarting repeatedly
2. Using 0 then F8 to start in Safe Mode and Last Good Configuration
(both resulted in the same black screen)

I hit F12 to look at Toshiba's boot utility. There is an HDD recovery utility, which can restore to factory settings, but I believe this will wipe my drive.

I do not have a recovery disk with me. I'm traveling till Thanksgiving and my disks are at home.

I have a WD Passport with a full backup from a week ago if that helps.

Any help is appreciated!

Sounds like the best thing to do is restore from the backup.
