Avast-IS stopped and won't start, win 7 64bit

I was declared clean just the other day, but now the avast firewall and anti-virus suddenly won't start,
not even from the win 7 "task-bar flag problem manager". (I invented that, but you know what I mean)

What would be the correct procedure in this case?

I'll try and see if win boots in normal mode, in the msconfig!

the VisthAux.exe (avast virus scanner) is startet 6 (six) times in the task manager, the AvastUI.exe (avast! Antivirus) is also startet.

strange I would say.
