The post was too long to copy and paste. And I can't attach the doc because an error occurs "No file was selected for upload." Do you want me to send it to you via message?

Try to zip the file it should result in a small zip and then attach to your reply.

After checking the logs my recommendations is this:

Login with the bad user account
  • rename the OLD account to easily identify the account on the logon screen
    - open Start Menu > Control Panel > User Accounts > click Change your account name
    - type Elvis The God-bad, confirm the name change
  • create a new user account without any spaces on the username, in my opinion spaces and other symbols in the username isn't good idea...
    - Create a New User account named ElvisTheGod with Administrator privileges
    - Log-off from the bad account
    - Log-on with the new user account ElvisTheGod
  • change the new account name to Elvis The God, (the folder on c:\users will not change)
    - open Start Menu > Control Panel > User Accounts > click Change your account name
    - type Elvis The God, confirm the name change
  • copy the files from the old profiles to the new one
    - you have to locate your files on the folder c:\users\Elvis The God containing the bad profile and move them to the new profile on c:\users\ElvisTheGod
  • using the User Accounts applet on the Control Panel delete the users Another, Attempt and New Account if you didn't save any files on those profiles, after this remove the folders c:\users\Another, c:\users\Attempt and c:\users\New Account

SleepyDude, I just had a few questions before I went through with the final steps.

4. copy the files from the old profiles to the new one
- you have to locate your files on the folder c:\users\Elvis The God containing the bad profile and move them to the new profile on c:\users\ElvisTheGod
5. using the User Accounts applet on the Control Panel delete the users Another, Attempt and New Account if you didn't save any files on those profiles, after this remove the folders c:\users\Another, c:\users\Attempt and c:\users\New Account

When I move/copy the files, do I simply copy and paste the entire "Elvis The God" folder into the "ElvisTheGod" folder? Or do I drag and drop the "Elvis The God" folder into the "ElvisTheGod" folder?

I have saved some files on this account (New Account) mainly the files you told me to download. I don't have any files I need on these account though. Is it okay to delete these profiles then?

First I forget to say that the new user must have Administrator privileges.

Its better to move/copy the files and folders you create and not the entirely user profile folder. One of the reasons take make windows discard a user profile its file corruptions or wrong permissions set, that's why its better to limit/select what you copy.

The files are only diagnostic tools you can remove them. If needed they can be downloaded again on to the new profile.

SleepyDude,

This is what I have done so far. I have made a new account entitled "ElvisTheGod" with admin privileges, then I changed the name once logged into the profile to "Elvis The God". I copied my old files from the corrupt profile to my new profile. I deleted "Attempt", "New Account", and "Another."

Where do I go from here? Do I delete the corrupt profile? Is there a way I can import my bookmarks from my old internet browser/corrupt file to the new (I use Chrome)?

Don't delete the corrupted profile because you probably need to recover more data from there.

For Chrome try this if you didn't do any changes to the chrome configuration for this new user:
- press Posted Image and type "C:\Users\Elvis The God\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data"
- right click the folder called Default and choose Copy
- press Posted Image and type "C:\Users\ElvisTheGod\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data"
- on the windows for folder User Data open the menu Organize and click Paste answer yes to overwrite the folder default

Hi sleepydude, i am having similar issue, however my prob seems to be because of disk error, because when i ran a disk check, it goes forever and there were some error messages.
Is it fixable? Or should i clean install the windows, or even buy new pc?
Thank you
