Samsung N-145p netbook overheated and now display messed up

Hello,
My Samsung N-145p netbook overheated and now the screen is only displaying half the screen and the other half is black with blue lines. What is the problem?

Have you or can you connect the netbook up to an external display by way of the VGA port.
If the problem is present on the external display it may point toward a damaged video chip, if the external display is ok then the MB (motherboard) to screen video cable/ribbon and inverter need to be checked for signs of damage and/or that they are securely attached.

Repairing notebooks and netbooks is a task best left to a suitably qualified/competent person as they are so easy to damage, an example of such damage is putting an incorrect screw in the wrong place can short out and destroy the MB.

Let us know the results of connecting the netbook to an external display.

NB: You may need to press the Fn and one of the F1 to F12 (F5 is common) keys to toggle the display from the netbook to the external screen.
