i have a windows 7 64 bit laptop and im trying to update the update for windows 7 for x64-based systems (KB2661254) I have tried googling ways to fix it but nothing has worked. it fails everytime. is this update even necessary?

The update you mention was installed on my system on October 10.İt was a regular update.Do you simply have trouble installing this particular update,or do you generally have problems with installing Windows Updates? Do you get any errors,if so what do they say?
