So, My Wifes, Aunts, Brother (Seriously) installed a pirated or hacked copy of windows 7, They were using the laptop for a while now, but got in trouble with the cops for other reasons (Go Figure). So my wifes aunt gave the laptop to me and I don't want to run an illegal copy of windows. I also don't want to pay tons of money for windows either when I could go get a brand new laptop for the same price.

There is no boot disk to restore to original windows, and I've tried some of the advice on this website like "Holding 0 until the Toshiba logo apears then tapping 0 until it goes away" and the HDD RENEW thing poped up but then it just loaded windows, so I'm guessing there's no partition either, unless there's another way of ressetting to the factory OS so I have a legal copy of windows?

It's a Toshiba Satellite P305-S8854

Hey sorry for not responding, but Yes I did resolve my problem... Since I couldn't figure out exactly why my comp said the copy of windows was not genuine, I only suspected that my wifes family pirated it. I got something called "RemoveWAT" and now I can use windows freely without problems, I can update and run windows defender and anything else without problems.

Thank you for your advice.

Sorry, but you still have an illegal copy. All you've done is subvert the check.

Does the computer have a COA sticker on it for Windows 7?
