Some fonts not displaying properly in Chrome

Some fonts on webpages aren't displaying properly. Either they become jumbled up symbols like in the Strava screenshot attached (when I copy and paste these symbols, they show up as the correct text), or look different like the Tumblr screenshot (extra thin).

I've tried resetting Chrome settings (particularly, font/encoding options) be deleting my entire user profile folder, uninstalling/reinstalling Chrome, and trying the beta channel. Everything displays properly on other applications and the same websites are fine in Internet Explorer.
