Recovery to factory does a format so all the pointers to your files are gone but many of the files themselves may still be there.

Try Recuva, see if it can find them for you. It won't find all but it may find most.

What do you mean by computer history?

The files on the USB drive are probably in folders, exactly as they were on your computer. Please post a list of the folders on the USB flash drive. The easiest way to do this is from a Command Prompt as follows:

Inset the USB flash drive into the computer. May take a bit for it to recognize it and load the driver.
Open My Computer and see what the drive letter is for the flash drive.
Press Windows key (next to left Ctrl key) and the R key together to open the Run box.
Type cmd and press Enter to open a Command Prompt window.

In the Command Prompt window, type the following exactly as shown then press Enter:

dir x:\*.* /s > listoffiles.txt

This will create the listoffiles.txt file which will show all the folders and files on the flash drive. Attach it here in your next post. To do that you need to use the Full Editor (button below text input area).

With that list I can better help you restore the files and folders.
