I'd like to wrap my hands around somebody's neck right about now at Microsoft. Hopefully this is easy to fix. Every once in a while I'm in the middle of doing research on the internet and all of a sudden my computer goes down and tells me windows is installing updates. How do I stop this? Thank You.

Open Control Panel, click on Windows Update then Change Settings at left.

In the Important updates drop down, change it to Check for updates but let me chose when to install them.
