Freezes when connecting

My work laptop runs windows xp pro and starts every boot with Microsoft Active Sync 4.5. Symantec Endpoint Security is what they load on all their up laptops.
This computer never seemed to run smooth, however, when I connect to my home network and a couple others my computer will freeze almost as soon as I open IE. BUT, when I'm the office or hotels and some other hotspots, my computer runs just fine with no freezing.
Any ideas here?

Sounds like you may need to update the wireless driver.
What is the exact make and model of your machine?
This program can help id the drivers that you need for your machine.
