constant crashes

My computer crashes, more often when I am on my MMO than anything like every 5-20 minutes) very frustrating. when it does I either get a crash window or sometimes I get a blue screen. I have done many virus scans I have even put in a new hard drive and OS, yesterday I even lost my nvidia drive after a crash. some times it crashes mumble but mostly just when Im on my MMO.. please help this is very bad and seems to be getting worst.

Before we can help you need to provide the following so I can start you in the right direction.
Laptop or Desktop?
  • If a name brand system then what brand, make and model is the system?
  • If custom built then what brand, make and model is the motherboard
  • Total memory installed
  • Total hard drive capacity and free space
  • What steps have you taken so far to resolve the issue


Download BlueScreenView
No installation required.
Double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

thank you for getting back with me so fast,,
I am on a dell dimension E520, with a nvidia 8600 GT
I have 3gb of ram,, 2x 512mb, 2x 1gb
I have 160gb hard drive with 115gb free space
try to repair by putting this 160gb HD in with new OS, ran many scans with avg, malwarebytes (malwarebytes gave me a black screen so had to reinstaul OS)tried updating drivers for video card and bios.thats about it i think.

downloaded the bluescreenview but cant find the file sorry.......

Thanks for the info and we can get the error info another way.

  • Please download the Event Viewer Tool by Vino Rosso VEW and save it to your Desktop:
  • Double-click VEW.exe
  • Under 'Select log to query', select (as appropriate):
    • Application
    • System
  • Under 'Select type to list', select (as appropriate):
    • Error
    • Information
    • Warning
Then use the 'Date of events' or 'Number of events' as follows:

Either:
  • Click the radio button for 'Number of events'
    Type 3 in the 1 to 20 box (or any number from 1 to 20)
    Then click the Run button.
    Notepad will open with the output log.

  • Click the radio button for 'Date of events'
    In the From: boxes type today's date (presuming the crash happened today) 04 11 2012
    In the To: boxes type today's date (presuming the crash happened today) 04 11 2012
    Then click the Run button.
    Notepad will open with the output log.

OK it looks like your AVG is causing a issue and also Mumble.exe which looks to be part of Yoip software.
Do you have avg and some voip installed?

yes I do have avg installed but I installed it because I was having these issues,, and I have no idea what Yoip is..
if it is part of mumble then yes i do have mumble installed,, but i was having these issues before dowloaded mumble I think pritty sure..

OK it looks like mumble is maybe corrupted damaged or something like that.
From what I can see avg may be erroring out because of mumble. Can you check it and see about a update or something to try a repair it please.

yes there is a repair opption in add and remove in control panel I will try that now..
I will have to then get on my game and see if it crashes

OK thanks. The other thing is you can stop mumble from loading on startup and start it only when you need it.

was on the game 2 minutes and crashed,, mumble doesnt come on on start up as far as I know,, I bring it up when I need it..

Lets see if it does startup automatically.

Lets see what you have in your startup
Please click on

Start and then on Run
Type in msconfig and then press Enter
Now click on Startup
Next click on your Print Screen on your keyboard. It is normally the key above your number pad between the F12 key and the Scroll Lock key. Make sure you get everything even if you have to take more then one picture of the list.
Now go to Start
All Programs
Accessories
Paint

In the empty white area click and hold the CTRL key and then click the V
Go to the File option at the top and click on Save As
Save as file type JPEG and save it to your desktop
In your next reply attach the screenshot.

it keeps saying error no file was selected for upload,, I have it on desktop then I click choose file then attach this file and it says error no file was selected for upload
but when i look at it there are thing in there that i have deleted off my computer
