Hey all, I have the Windows\system32\config\system error on my pc right now, saying i need to repair it and such. I have the Windows XP CD but my CD Rom will not boot from it for some reason, I have change some settings in the BIOs but nothing happens, Anyone have any solutions to why it is not booting or find a way to change so that it will boot?

Thanks

You could have a bad cd drive or a bad disk (scratched).
Is the drive seen in "my computer"?
If seen there, can you search/ view a cd?
When you changed the bios to boot from cd did you save before you exited?

I cant get to my desktop because of this systems32\config\system error, Yes I have saved after exiting BIOs. Before, I have booted from the cd rom drive just to reformat my pc, but right now it is just not working at all.

Oops. Missed the error you were having. Sorry.

Can you try another bootable CD just to see if the drive works?
