Hello,
Smart has been telling me at startup the harddrive D will immediately fail for over 24 months now.
Slows down the startup as I must hit F1 to continual startup everytime.
Any way to reset it or turn it off?
Thanks,
Indexx

Depending on your motherboard brand and model, some BIOS will offer the choice to enable or disable smart

That's a pretty long range forecast from SMART and I personally wouldn't take it seriously.

You'll know when hard drives are on their way out by different aspects such as long read/write times, grinding noises etc.

Thanks Alzeimer and Wolfeymole for the replys.
Fished around in the BIOS a few times, I'll go digging again if I can remember how to pull it up,
It alarmed me for the 1st few months but then just became a bother.
Went from backing up hourly back to rarely. LOL.
Thanks again,
