How will my Windows Backup work?

I have my OS set up on a 60Gb SSD (my C drive.) I have my games and User directory on a 1.5TB data drive (drive D.) Since my User directory is on the data drive, when I start making a Windows Backup, the option for a system image lists both C and D, which totals almost 700GB. I want the system image, because it makes the restore process easy, but I don't know whether I can do a daily backup schedule. I know that the System Images aren't incremental, but if I do something like set up a daily backup of my user folders, and include the system image, will it make a new system image every day? If it does, can I set a system image on a separate once-a-month type backup schedule instead (I don't see options to make a schedule for a stand alone image,) so I can make the daily small changes to my documents quickly?

Thanks!
