Hi all,

I'm having a problem, hoping someone can help.

My dell mini had ubuntu installed. I tried to install xp via a working bootable usb. When I booted from the usb I got disk error.

So I took the HDD out of the mini, put it in another laptop and installed from the usb. When installed on that laptop xp ran no problems.

Put the HDD back into the dell mini, dell logo appears. Then a flashing cursor top left. Doesn't pass this. There is no beeps. Only beeps when I press a key on keyboard.

I can get into bios and it recognise the hdd.

I insert the XP USB and changed boot order to usb 1st. Same thing flashing Cursor. I then formatted the usb on another laptop and made a ubuntu usb. When I boot that I get disk read error press ctrl+alt+del to restart (or something along those lines)

When I removed the HDD from the mini. I'm 99.9 percent sure I did not damage anything.

I have also removed everything(usb, mem card etc)

I have took out the ram and put it back in. Still the same.

Thanks for reading.
