Sorry, Soxrox. Thats wrong. Just plain wrong, Limewire, Kazza Sharrazza, or any other P2P program is legal. Downloading copyrighted material on the other hand is illegal. Depends where you are as to what happens if you are found with this sort of stuff. Check your facts please. As staff I expected better from you. There are more than enough hoaxs floating around. Don't need to start a "Use this and get busted by the FBI" rumour now do we?

Well, Yes, but some of your facts are wrong, rowdy. Just like ROMS it's ok to make backups of your cd's. So if you want "backups" of your cd's use IRC or Soulseek. Those programs are what I use.

Making backups is ok. So far. However the copy protection on many discs is supposed to stop this as well. That's immoral, (IMHO) not illegal. Cracking the protection on a disc I bought and copying it for my use only is also legal.
Obtaining copyrighted material for free is illegal. If you tape a TV show and give it to your friend to watch, you broke the law. That doesn't make your VCR illegal though. I'll stand behind my facts. I'm not trying to start a flame war.

Sharing of copyrighted material without permission is illegal, because the author of the material (writer, song artist, film distributor, etc) has not given permission for the material to be distributed. However, peer-to-peer services are legal. Many companies use them internally for file sharing.
