Hello there,

Could anyone help me choose a proper laptop? I'm very ambivalent.

Short story:

Had a Zepto and a Packard Bell PC. They lasted, together, 5 years. That's not much considering the amount of money I spent on those :-)

Now - if you see the lastest thread I have made - the Packard Bell is basically dead. Tried swapping RAM-sticks, updating BIOS, drivers, Windows 8 etc. - No luck.

Could anyone please help me find a laptop, that atleast has a higher chance of lasting more than my previous laptops?

I've between 700 - 900$

I need it for lightweave gaming (not very often nor demanding games)
School (Microsoft Office 2010, Maple 16 etc)
Music
Adobe Photoshop

Basically that's it... I would like a intel i3/5 processor and other 'trust worthy' hardware

In advance...

THANK YOU!

Kind regards,

Mathias

It looks amazing!

I'm Danish though. I can't find a Danish retailer. I'm a bit worried that the import of it will be a tad expensive. I don't know the rules for laptops though.

Could you help me find a EU retailer?

EDIT: Should have said it, but I think a 15,6'' (15-16) screen is more me. The design and specifications are perfect though

It looks great :-)

If you don't find a better alternative that will be it I think. I like the processor and the amount of RAM. The graphic card is also alright, isn't it? http://www.videocard...el HD 4000&id=2

Thank you Phil. This might be it!

Which one would you buy?

I have just found this: http://www.laptops.d...c2469c640fbbb9c

That's a very cheap alternative, isn't it? Found it from your second link. Thoughts?

For me the i3 CPU is a lightweight, it is only an entry level CPU + what you are spending now is an investment for the future so choose an i5 CPU at least,

I've written an e-mail to them, because it seems like they don't have it in stock (the ASUS)

Will let you know tomorrow. If they're able to get more in stock I will buy that one.

Thanks for your assistance. If you find other good laptops, please let me know. I like the ASUS ones the most (design and the aluminium is nice)

Regards,

Mathias

Hey Phil.

I investigated the ASUS K, but the retailers said it was out of stock and they wont get it back.

What about this:

Nearly the same I think.

Thoughts Phil?

Kind regards,

I found this Asus-U47A-RS51 it comes with a i5 processor, 6GB of RAM, 750 Hard drive, and runs Windows 7 Home Premium. It is shipped by Amazon and its priced currently at $689.99 dollars with $8.49 for shipping from what the site says. I can link you to the computer here. Hoped this had helped you some.

Thanks a lot for your time Phil! It helped me a lot!!!

And thanks to you as well BL00PER for your contribution.

I chose http://www.fcomputer...mr-texture.html because of my current economy. If I had more $$ to spent I would have liked an i7 (quod core) processor :-)

It runs fine and it has better coolin' than my previous Packard Bell. Lets see in ~ 2 years. How it's working there ^^

Kind regards,

Mathias, Denmark
