I am looking for a new laptop as the one I have is failing. I would like to know what brands you guys recommend. I have a bad experience with Sony (what a sucky trackpad), Toshiba (non-working trackpad out of box), and Compaq (overheating problem). I am looking for a specific type of laptop, within the price limit of $300-$900, that has sufficient RAM (more than 3GB, possibly more than 4), a good processor (Dual-Core, Triple-Core or Quad-core, processor can either be AMD or Intel), a good graphics card (like NVIDIA Geforce or AMD, anything that can play Sims 3 and support shaders 2.0), and I'm a little picky on the colour. I prefer a light-coloured laptop (as dust and other particles don't appear as noticable).

What laptop would you recommend?
